October floating 2012

last call before the snow falls
My dog is amazing to float/camp with. mellow and loves the view. this was what the water looked like on the upper river. a clay bank slid into the river half way down and took the water out. it was white/blown for 2 days of the float. bummer but i still enjoyed the scenery. All the Larch trees were golden yellow. they are the only coniferous tree that sheds its needles in the winter as far as i know. i love this time of year. Fly fishing picture camped two nights on this Tributary because it was clear water. walked a few KMs and had a blast finding a few new holes. lots of bear shit though. even though the water was blown out i still tried. i caught 4 cutthroat trout on the very edge of the rivers where ever a clear river/tributary let into the main stem. the fish could see my flys here. Fly fishing picture it snowed high up the night i began this trip. then the hard snow came 30 minutes after i was all packed up and on my way home. great timing! Fly fishing picture
