The anticipation was off the charts! I’ve tried Czech nymphing before, but felt it was a watered down approach compared to its origins. Oleg, my guide, understood the approach and water as well. A native of Moscow, his humor a bit dry, but his passion for the sport was electric. Please don’t mention Chub!
Our morning was perfect. He was patient. He strived to teach me the proper approach and technique. After an early lesson and a few words of encouragement, game on! First cast a grayling who made it to the net, but not captured on camera. Four casts later, craziness! A double hook up of a native brown and rainbow. A rarity. The day was filled with relentless takes and hook ups! Thanks Oleg for introducing me to the REAL Czech nymphing! A technique I look forward to using in the states for years to come!
