I am very excited to announce that Riverbend Woodworks has been selected to exhibit at the The Fly Fishing Show's 2015 Lynnwood, Washington show February 14-15! This is the first show for my woodshop, and I could not ask for a better place to present my work!

It has been a mad scramble as I continue to meet my customer orders and have enough carving and furniture items to showcase, but what's life without a bit of hurry-up, right?!

My goal is to showcase some of what has made Riverbend so successful, and to bring several new designs to the forefront. One in particular, a cherry coffee table/end table set, has really been exciting to build.

The centerpiece of the 36"x20" coffee table is the German brown trout carving shown above (first image). Nothing reminds me more of fly fishing then seeing a beautiful netted fish on a stream bank.

My table insert features an antique fly rod and reel and a classic fly fishing catch-and-release net. The white squid-like carving is an experimental tree limb design which, when fully painted and coated in moss, will look right at home on the river bank.

So what is not pictured? The final product will have pour-in clear resin "water" along the faux riverbank, and small terrestrial stonefly emerger nymphs (about 1" long each) will be placed along the "water" edge.

The matching cherry end table, measuring 20"x 20"x 22" tall, will feature this handsome cutthroat trout. This fish will sit atop a matching riverbed themed scene complete with carved log "river break" and small stonefly emerger's placed throughout.

Each scale on my fish has been hand-burned to give an incredibly lifelike appearance for the end result. Currently, these fish have been primed and are awaiting their final paint!
