We are adding the Permit Line to our tropical saltwater series of lines for perfect presentations to these notoriously finicky fish. The Permit Line was awarded the “Best New Saltwater Line” at the 2015 International Fly Tackle Dealers show in July.
Designed specifically for the demands of the permit fly fisher, this line has an easy-casting taper to present typical crab patterns delicately. It loads at close range with plenty of power for quick distance. Ideal for either wading or fishing from the boat, the long back taper makes the line extremely stable and versatile for long casts and second shot chances.
RIO’s new Permit line is built on a medium-stiff core and has a hard, tropical coating that prevents the line from wilting in the heat and helps keep the loop shape on long casts. In addition, the line features AgentX and Extreme Slickness technologies that allow it to slide through the guides effortlessly.
