The Strangford eel was designed by me a couple of years ago for hunting sea trout on Stengford Lough which is situated on the East coast of Northern Ireland.
Tied on a no 6 deep water nymph hook it is also a great pattern for catching sea bass.
Tied on a no 4 deep water hook it was used last year in Argentina and accounted for 8 sea trout by one of my customers.
The original version had black crinkle hair as the over wing , but now i tie it with Silver fox tail as the effect is more desirable.
Any comments on this pattern will be warmly welcome
