Library Fishing Report Animas River

Animas River

From: 10/10/2016
To: 10/10/2016
Type of Water: Freshwater
Species: Rainbow trout, Brown trout
The Animas River has been fishing very well lately. Mid-day hatches of Tricos, BWOs, and Micro Caddis have been bringing fish to the surface. Should you find the river devoid of risers, a nymph rig will be in order. Prince nymphs, Pheasant Tails, and Copper John's have been working as a great top fly with a RS-2, green caddis larva, or Brown Baetis Nymph dropper below. Don't discount streamers thrown on single and two handed rods either. Browns are getting very aggressive and may attack anything that moves into their zone.
