Type of Water: Freshwater
Species: Rainbow trout, Brown trout
Perfect day on the Little Red! Water generation has been favorable, typically running two units until 9am and then again at 6ish in the evening. I fished Cow Shoals from 3pm until dark. When I arrived, there was still some water from the mornings generation, but it only enhanced the fishing. Fish were tight to the big rocks and pockets, so anywhere I could find a seam, there was a fish to be had. Fished mostly small midge larvae patterns, Zebras, Miracles, Discos and Crane Fly larvae patterns all worked well. With the added water, was able to use 6x instead of 7x which is almost mandatory when the water is all the way out.
Much to my surprise, browns out-numbered rainbows.
