Salza river

From: 05/19/2019
To: 05/25/2019
Type of Water: Freshwater
Species: Brown trout, Grayling
Our third season guiding on the Salza River in Austria started a bit colder than the previous years. Spring hadn't arrived in the Alps yet and the trout and grayling weren't as active as we expected during the first days of our week. Nevertheless, our group started fishing with nymphs and streamers and with some time managed to get the results we were looking for. The water was a bit darker due to the rains that joined us but not as bad as we feared. Fine brown trout and large grayling were still caught during those days on the Salza, and some even rose to our mayfly imitations at the end of the week. All in all, we had a great time fly fishing this gorgeous Austrian river, enjoying fine food, Pils beers and having some good laughs.
