Fly fishing for amago trout in Japan.
On the 13th of May,
Went fishing on fly by myself.
Sometimes it was so windy and it was tough with my #2 flyline.
But totally it`s like early summer and felt OK with good weather.
Fished some Amago ,which`s Red-spotted trout and
Kawamutsu, which`s Dark chub small minnow, often attacked my dryflies.(Last second footage)
Before evening I saw some big Mayflies and big Amago`s rising for them at a dam.
Then I took #4 rod from my car and casted as long as possible but it didn`t reach at all.
It was possible to afford to reach the distance with lure.
But I heard it was difficult to fish such big trout at the dam on lure because of being tired of too much lure casting.
I wanted to cast for long distance and caught such big trout.
Next time I should bring my #8 rod when coming to this river system again.
But I am wondering if I can cast longer with my #8 rod as I`m not getting used to it or poor skill. hahaha
It was first time to go fishing at this river but I was happy to see some trout here.
