Watch our short video on how to prepare a silk fly line before fishing. By greasing the line properly the silk line will sit on the water surface and not in it, like a plastic line. This improves your ability to mend the line and to make roll casts. A well greased line will float well all day. It can also be degreased, using the felt patch provided, making it adaptable. For example you could degrease the last 2 yards and convert the line into a sink tip during the day, and if you switch a DT line around, it can be a slow sinking line.
