CDC Sedge

This fly pattern is tied using one or two hackles of CDC and a rooster hackle with partially cut fibers.

Steps

Step 1

I tie a CDC hackle on bend of hook.

Step 2

I wrap hackle around the stem of hook.

Step 3

Tie hackle on hook and cut excess.

Step 4

Because the hackle does not cover the entire stem, I tie another hackle on hook.

Step 5

I wrap the second hackle around the hook, tie it close to the eye and cut the excess.

Step 6

I cut a portion of the fibers of a rooster's hackles.

Step 7

I put the hackle in half lengthwise against the curve of the hook holdyng tense the two parts of the hackle.

Step 8

I wrap a portion of the hackle around each other. In this way I create the body of the fly.

Step 9

I raise the fibers of CDC, trying to divide into equal parts, I do rotate the body and the tie under the eye of the hook.

Cut excess of body.

Tie the head of fly

I take off the fly from vise and cut the longest wing fibers
