Activity during this hatches is always intense, trout are literally flying out of the wáter to take this insects.
Once upon a time I was fishing in a lake while and adult dragonfly came flying. I thought I saw a big shadow underwater following it. I thought I was wrong but when the bug came closer I could clearly see the trout looking for the chance to take a big meal.
The original pattern “Braided Butt Damsel Adult” was created by Gary Borger. The original pattern had a post made of acrilyc wool fibers that was replaced here by a foam post.

Hook: TMC 100 or Mustad 94840 # 8 to 10
Thread: UNI 8/0 o 6/0 blue.
Abdomen: Braided Mono Running Line segment dyed light blue with black stripes. Burn one end.
Parachute post: Light blue foam post.
Parachute: Crea or Grizzly rooster neck with long fibers.
Dubbing: Antron Yarn or similar –Light blue or Blue-
Eyes: Foam post
Pasos
Paso 1
Tie the braided butt.
Paso 2
Tie the foam strip.
Paso 3
Tie the rooster saddle feather next to the foam strip.
Paso 4
Build the thorax using dubbing.
Paso 5
Wrap the feather around the foam strip parachute style. Tie the end next to the eye of the hook and trim the excess.
Paso 6
Bring the foam strip forward and tie next to the eye of the hook.
Paso 7
Cut the foam strip leaving a small segment in the front to imítate the eyes of the damselfly.
