Drier weather is making for more consistent conditions on the Colorado, where the dry fly action has been very good. It’s Hopper/dropper season on the Colorado. Blue Wings are coming off on the cloudy/rainy afternoons. The Eagle is fishing best with small midge/beatis nymphs in the mornings then terrestrials in the afternoons into the evening Caddis hatch. The Roaring Fork river is also a favorite of our guide staff. The Fork is also a great Hopper/terrestrial river with a lot of public access. The Frying pan, Blue and Yampa Tailwaters are all in fishable condition as well. The local small creeks are all fishing great and offer a good reprieve from fishing the main rivers during the heat of the mid-day.
