Mid December can be one of the best month of fishing The Route of the Spring Creeks. Water level is perfect, flowing in every part of each river. Trouts everywhere, but fishing also depends on having some clear water.
Rio Pelke was a bit coloured due to mountain rain and some snow melting late in the spring. So fishing wasnt at its best in there, but browns were very active.
Fishes around one kilo, taking some nymphs in the morning. The afternoon was in our other creek called Coyle which holds bigger browns as well as considerably good size brooks.
Mainly #4 tackle with floating lines and chernobyl ants was the most fun in Coyle creek. Most of the big ones escaped untill we try some streamers, and then takes were much more agresive.

Some strange happened in Coyle river. Bill caught a strange brook (take a look in one of the pics and feel free to comment what is it), I have never seen that kind of coloration in 25 years fishing this creeks.
A combination of chimichurri, different kinds of our typical jams, and some fresh meat from the estancia cooked "a la criolla" made Diego, Bill and James whisper in every meal. Diego asked my mother for all secret ingredients!
For the last day of three we went to Estancia Chank Aike to try the Coyle Sur river, located 100 km from my estancia. Water wasn't clear but the brooks were there. It was a perfect end as Bill came out with 5 pounds brook right at the last pool at the last minute.
