Medawisla (the Abenaki word for loon) is the newest destination in our Maine Wilderness Lodges network, and an ideal spot for exploring the famed 100-Mile Wilderness. Built on AMC conservation land and located at the confluence of Second Roach Pond and the Roach River, seven miles from Kokadjo and northeast of Greenville, Medawisla offers opportunities for hiking, paddling, fly fishing, canoe camping, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, steps away from your private cabin or bunkhouse accommodations.

AMC owns and manages 70,000 acres of conservation and recreation land in the heart of the 100-Mile Wilderness, offering a variety of fishing opportunities. Sportsmen may access the property year-round, including those portions of the spring and fall seasons when AMC's three wilderness lodges are closed.
Ver más...The property contains the headwaters of the West Branch of the Pleasant River along with the headwaters of the Roach River. Both support a strong population of wild brook trout, an increasing rarity in the East. Anglers should consult the state's open water fishing laws and rules for regulations regarding the use of certain fishing gear on certain bodies of water.
Medawisla Lodge & Cabins offers a spectacular location "off the grid" by the shore of Second Roach Pond, on 70,000 acres of forestland permanently conserved by AMC as part of its Maine Woods Initiative.
