There is a wilderness river in the Pacific Northwest that starts in the highest glaciers and flows through tall, uncut timber. The headwaters are rough and tumble with huge boulders with miles of non-stop whitewater. Over five years ago this fly fishing video was featured in Catch Magazine. We explored and fished the middle and lower river where serene, aqua blue pools and riffles held two species of spawning salmon and rainbow and cutthroat trout that were eager to take our dry flies. Access to the river is accomplished by hiking through the mountains, or a 55 mile boat ride, or by using the primitive grass airstrip. There is one guide who works here. His name is John Wilsey. John was very helpful with our logistics and angling success.
This was the first few years of aerial video for me so it's very exciting to see how much the quality of the footage has changed since then.
