Just 40 minutes east of the ranch is the vibrant western town of Bozeman, the gem of southwest Montana. Its historic downtown is full of great shops, museums, and art galleries. Our local rivers and mountains are second to none in beauty and wildlife. Fly fishing is a way of life in this area, and we are in the middle of some of the best rivers in the nation. We are also just north of Yellowstone National Park and its amazing geysers and wildlife. Winter in Montana is a special time as well. World class ski resorts, snow shoeing, and dog sledding are all favorite activities.
The Property

What started off as a cattle ranch when the property was purchased in 2005 has been restored over time with the goal of bringing it back to it a more native landscape. The Grey Cliffs restoration project has included planting thousands of acres of grasslands and trees, creating wetland protection with fences to protect springs from livestock, and reviving wildlife habitats, including a variety of birds and wild game.
Now guests can see deer and elk along with bald and golden eagles, and a variety of upland birds including wild sharp tailed grouse, Hungarian partridge, pheasant, and chukar partridge. Two trout fishing ponds are located on the Grey Cliffs Ranch property, for healthy wetland habitat and recreational uses.
The Lodge
Overlooking the trout-filled ponds, rolling hills, and mountain peaks, the 8,000 square-foot post and beam style Lodge at Grey Cliffs is luxurious and spacious, yet intimate and comfortable. Expansive windows line the south facing, wood accented great room where guests can enjoy a roaring fire and unlimited views.
Guests can also gather in a family room, complete with a flat screen television, fireplace, kitchenette, workstation, and game table, with wireless Internet available throughout. A grand deck off the main floor includes an ideal setting for outdoor dining and covered patios, with a hot tub below for soaking outside.
At Grey Cliffs Lodge, guest privacy and security is paramount, protected with gated entrances, integrated road sensors, on-site management, and outdoor video surveillance.
