Mulberry Whin

We offer over 1.5 miles of private double bank chalk stream fly fishing on one of the U.K.'s best-kept secrets, the Driffield West Beck. We have on-site accommodation for up to 8 anglers at a time, including a full breakfast and lunch package available. We also offer a well-stocked bothy for anglers to buy leaders, tippet, floating and other elements of essential tackle. We also stock high quality flies from Fulling Mill, as well as a special selection of flies that are and tied by our head guide Will Robins that are specific to the West Beck and other Yorkshire rivers. Our bothy is a short walk from the river and includes Tea and Coffee making facilities, as well as an up to date selection of the U.K.'s best trout fishing magazines and books to browse while enjoying your lunch.

Flowing through S.S.S.I (site of special scientific interest) grassland at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, Mulberry-Whin is over 1.5 mile of Double Bank Chalkstream fishing. Forming part of the nationally renowned “Driffield West Beck”, the river is spring fed from numerous smaller streams.
Although there is some stocking, Mulberry-Whin has a very good head of wild Trout throughout the fishery, along with a good head of very large Grayling that average between 2-3lbs and are regularly caught using sight nymph and dry fly tactics. We have three onsite accommodation options. We offer Whin Lodge which is a twin/double room, Mulberry Cottage for those wanting to stay 2 nights or more, or those with a party larger than 2 and also The Old Pantry which is a newly converted self-contained bed and breakfast room. The room can be booked as a single, twin, double or as a family room with a sofa bed sleeping up to 4 persons... We also offer multiple breakfast options, including a full English breakfast and a tailored fisherman's hamper for lunch. Our accommodation is set in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds countryside and is only a 5-minute walk from the river.
